Leicester: Drink-driving charge after 4-year-old boy hit by car

A man has been charged with drink driving after a four-year-old boy was hit by a car in Leicester.

Officers from Leicestershire Police were called at 12:38 BST on Saturday to Cranmer Street.

The four-year-old was taken to hospital, but a police spokesman said his injuries were “not believed to be life-threatening at this time”.

The accused man, 62, from Leicester, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on July 15, the force added.
