There are hopes the new Devon and Cornwall Police Museum could be open more than once a week in future.

The free site is currently only open on Fridays in Tavistock’s Court Gate building between 11am and 3pm, but it is hoped it could become more frequent.

The Devon and Cornwall Police Museum collects, preserves and celebrates the history of policing in Devon and Cornwall.

It currently has a thousand exhibits in its archives of police material, including documents, photographs and artefacts, and offers an in-depth range of material tracing the social history of the region for over two centuries.

The free site is run by volunteers and first opened in March.
