Bristol Airport is warning of several road closures affecting travel

A number of road closures south of the city have prompted Bristol Airport to issue a warning to travellers. Tourists are being told to ensure they leave with plenty of time for their journey if using the A38 northbound.

Part of the A38 Bristol road is closed near Shipham after a milk tanker overturned and spilled milk onto the road this morning. It is closed between the Shipham turn off to the A368 for Bath Road near the village of Churchill. The closure is expected to remain in place for a period of time to allow for roadway clearance and recovery work.

Further south, the A38 Bristol Road, Winscombe northbound at the A371 in Sidcot Lane is partially blocked and there are serious delays in the area. The traffic monitoring service Inrix reports that this is due to a traffic problem. It is not clear if this is a separate incident or if the traffic problems are related to the previous accident.
