The Premier League club are keen on the Sheffield United man, while the Blades need approval to spend

One of Sheffield United’s assistant managers, Keith Andrews, is said to be keen on joining a Premier League club this summer. Reports from Alan Nixon claim that Thomas Frank wants the Irishman to join his coaching staff at Brentford.

Andrews, 43, was welcomed to Sheffield United as part of Chris Wilder’s staff when the Blades boss reunited with the club in December.

It is believed that Andrews could act as a convincer for Republic of Ireland international Alan Browne to join United this summer, given that he has worked closely with the former Preston North End man in the Ireland set-up. But with free agent negotiations stalled and now Andrews’ potential exit, perhaps Browne sees better options elsewhere at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United need approval to spend money

In another train of thoughts, Nixon also stated that Sheffield United have potential new signings outside of their potential new owners. Former chief scout Des Taylor, who acts as an adviser to the consortium, will have a say in who the Blades spend their money on this summer.

United have recently been linked with two promising players in Harrison Burrows and Michael Cooper and Taylor is believed to be a strong admirer of the duo.
