Manchester United are set to offer a rising star in a stunning swap deal for Osimhen

In a move that could rock the summer transfer market, Manchester United are reportedly preparing a sensational bid to secure Napoli’s prolific striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international is the most wanted player this summer and has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and most recently Manchester United.

The competition for the 25-year-old’s signature is getting tighter by the day, with interested clubs adopting strategies to outbid the others and win the race for Osimhen’s signature.

Reports in Italy, according to CalcioNapoli24, indicate that Manchester United have offered cash plus Rasmus Hojlund in a deal for the Napoli forward.

The Denmark international has had a challenging debut season at the club following his £72million move from Atalanta.

Despite facing criticism, the 21-year-old impressed by scoring 16 goals, shining in particular with some outstanding mid-season form that highlighted his undeniable talent.

Napoli’s adjusted strategy: lowering Osimhen’s asking price to facilitate transfer offers

Napoli are at a critical juncture in the transfer market, with Osimhen’s future holding significant influence over their future business decisions.

Reports emerging from Italy suggest a strategic shift as they look to lower their asking price for the Nigerian striker. This move aims to attract more bidders and generate competitive bidding amid interest from potential bidders.

Osimhen, whose release clause of 130 million euros is a key factor in the negotiations, has attracted the attention of interested clubs. Napoli’s willingness to adjust their valuation highlights the urgency to complete a deal that could alter the team’s dynamics and financial plans for next season.

Osimhen’s performance in the 2023/24 season was not as spectacular as the previous season, partly due to a calf injury and his participation in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Nigeria. Despite this, Osimhen still managed to score 17 goals and four assists in 32 appearances.
