Rangers’ Scott Wright transfer exit route opens as Sheffield Wednesday show interest

Scott Wright is attracting transfer interest from Sheffield Wednesday this summer as an exit route opens up for the Rangers man.

The Hillsborough outfit, according to the Sunday Mail, have expressed an interest in the 26-year-old and manager Danny Rohl is an admirer of the player and is looking to take him south for the new season. Wright has been a fringe player at Ibrox for the most part, making 119 appearances over three years, with the majority of those outings coming from the bench.

The Gers have been hard at work revamping their squad this summer, with manager Philippe Clement already bringing in the likes of Oscar Cortes on loan with an obligation to buy. And they would be willing to sell Wright as long as the fee is right.

The player has a year left on his contract and the club are more likely to cash in to avoid losing him for free, as they did with five players at the end of last season.
