Hull KR’s Ben Reynolds suspended while on duty for dual-reg partner

Ben Reynolds is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a ban while away from Hull KR. The winger, who joined the club at the start of the year, was handed a two-match ban after being accused of using foul and abusive language towards a match official.

Reynolds received the charge following his involvement with his former club Featherstone Rovers, from whom he joined the Robins just a few months ago. He was in action for the club when they faced Doncaster on the Championship weekend.

As a result, he has been handed a ban which will become active next week, meaning he will be unavailable for the club’s matches against Wigan Warriors and St Helens.

It is the second time this year Rovers have seen a player suspended for a game in which he did not play for the first team. Corey Hall was also suspended while in action for the club’s reserve grade against Warrington Wolves last month.

Reynolds made his debut for the Robins in the win over London Broncos earlier this month but has seen his opportunities limited so far. The form of midfielders Mikey Lewis and Tyrone May, as well as that of Jez Litten and Matt Parcell, left him out of the matchday squad. He would have been selected for the Challenge Cup match against Salford in Lewis’ absence, but was cup-tied after playing for Featherstone in an earlier round of the competition.
