Manchester United team bus infiltrated by BAFTA prankster after Crystal Palace loss

A YouTube prankster who crashed the BAFTAs managed to sneak onto the Manchester United team bus following their 4-0 defeat by Crystal Palace on Monday.

Lizwani was dressed in a United tracksuit as he entered the bus at Palace’s Selhurst Park, where he sat down before being spotted by the Manchester club’s security guards. He was then removed from the bus in a peaceful manner.

Palace are conducting an investigation into what happened and their security protocols, while the Premier League has warned clubs to be on the lookout for copycat incidents going forward.

Lizwani’s TikTok account shows the Englishman sneaking into various events and places over the past 18 months, including a Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, the BRIT Awards, Reading Festival and the home of rapper DDG.

He made headlines in March, though, for sneaking on stage as the cast and crew of Oppenheimer received their BAFTA award for best film, where he stood alongside director Christopher Nolan, actor Cillian Murphy and producer Emma Thomas.

Lizwani claimed he remained at the BAFTAs for an hour after Thomas delivered her winning speech, before being discovered by event security and then handed over to the police, who made him delete the video footage he had taken of his night.

“A social media prankster was removed by security last night after joining the winners of the final award on stage,” a BAFTA spokesperson, via the BBC, said the day after the ceremony.

“We are taking this very seriously, and don’t wish to grant him any publicity by commenting further.”
