James Pearce gives another behind-the-scenes update at Liverpool, which takes place on Friday

You saw Arne Slot in action behind a camera as he was introduced to Liverpool fans through a one-on-one interview with Peter McDowall.

Now James Pearce has confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the former Feyenoord boss will speak to the media for the first time in his new role next Friday at 11am.

The Merseysiders will face Real Betis first in their pre-season schedule.

Elsewhere, alleged Reds target Yankuba Minteh has agreed a deal to take him to Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United are offloading more stars to meet their PSR demands.

As we have already seen, the Dutchman is a very different character from the man whose office he has quite recently taken over.

Calm and collected raw energy and quickly quoted lines could be the new status quo at Anfield for the foreseeable future.

Of course, there’s absolutely no need to fear change in the red half of Merseyside. Jurgen Klopp and the expert team behind him have worked hard to leave solid foundations in their wake after finishing third in the Premier League last year.

If Slot rises to the challenge, it will have all the tools to achieve success for many years to come.

We’re not chasing a Jurgen 2.0 – just exciting football and the continued promise to challenge at the top in England and beyond.
