Rishi Sunak explains why the Nuneaton seat is ‘critical’ during the trip to the cricket club

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted that keeping the Nuneaton seat was “critical” for the Conservative party. After apparently driving around town just a few weeks ago, he brought the Tory bus to Nuneaton Cricket Club earlier this afternoon – and he didn’t want to leave.

He joined several sessions at the club’s ground off Weddington Road, including a drill session with the under-ten and under-11 squad. She then faced balls being bowled by the club’s women’s team – and looked at home in the nets.

So much so that one of the members gathered at the club called out “Are you available on Saturday? before telling the crowd: “This is the most relaxing part of my day so far.”

Time was passing and he was urged to go on, but he said, “One more? Only one?” Excited young members of the cricket club rushed to snap a selfie with the Prime Minister before he stopped to chat with six-year-olds Nelly Gore and Bella Whitehouse.

Pupils at Milby Primary School spoke excitedly to the man who hopes to continue leading the country after Thursday’s (July 4) general election. This was very heartwarming for one of their parents, who said: “It was so nice of him to take the time to talk to them.

“He shouldn’t have done that.”
