Aston Villa’s ‘outrageous’ ticket prices for 2024/25 criticized by FSA

Aston Villa fans have expressed their anger at match-by-match ticket prices for the 2024/25 Premier League season.

The games are split between Category A and B fixtures, with four price zones at Villa Park. The cheapest adult ticket for an individual game, which is a Category B match in price zone four, comes in at £44.50.

The most expensive Category A match ticket in ‘1888 Seats’ is £92, while Price Zone 1 tickets for Category A matches come in at £78. Tickets for category 1 matches have increased by around 15% compared to last season, while prices for category B matches have increased by around 10%.

In a statement, Villa said: “Subscriptions for the upcoming 150th anniversary campaign are in high demand. Our General Admission Plus (GA+) and hospitality options are now the only way to fully guarantee your place for this historic season, which includes Champions League football at Villa Park for the first time. Thank you again for your fantastic support!

“The best way to watch Villa on their home turf at Villa Park is through match-by-match tickets, with Official Members getting priority access before the general sale, as well as a host of other benefits 365 days a year.”

There has been a backlash over ticket prices, with match-by-match adult ticket prices in seven of the 15 blocks in the Holte End costing as much as £72 for A games. Last season, games against Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester United, Tottenham , Wolves, Chelsea and Liverpool were classified in Category A.

The Football Supporters’ Association wrote on X: ‘Outrageous match day prices at #AVFC. It has long been inaccessible.”

Villa fans also had their say on social media, with one saying: “£1,080 for all 18 home league games is insane, then add the cup and CL and the price goes up fast. It is no longer cheap after an EPL team”.

Another supporter added: “Ouch! Made every game bar 1 last season as a member. I’m going with my dad and I’m already talking about being more selective to allow myself CL matches as well.” A third wrote: “Absolutely ridiculous, these prices are a scandal.”
