Spicer, Brent – Obituary – Moose Jaw

With heavy hearts the family of Brent Kendall Spicer announces his passing on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the age of 69. He was predeceased by his partner and best friend, Linda Mulligan; mother and father, Gwynneth (Briggs) and Ken Spicer; twin brother, Keith; and sisters, Roberta Bumphrey and Carol Spicer. Brent will be forever loved and missed by his two children, Amber Spicer and Dean (Alicia) Spicer; their mother, Darlene (nee: Currie); brothers, Vic Spicer and Edward (Lynn) Spicer; his nieces and nephews; and Brent’s extended family, Shane (Joan) Falasca and their children, Montana and Jerico. He will be especially missed by his shadow, otherwise known as Spicker the dog. You would rarely see one without the other.

Brent was born in Moose Jaw, SK on December 20, 1954. He grew up in our beloved East End, where he has lived all his life and where his children also call home. Brent attended Prince Arthur School and AE Peacock Collegiate. After leaving high school, Brent went on to work at Moose Jaw Heating & Plumbing where he learned and mastered the trade of sheet metal fabrication. Brent has spent his career doing this job, his impeccable skills being in high demand, especially when you have something vintage (old) that needs fixing. He was always there to answer the distress calls of many on those cold winter days and nights when the furnace went out, saying no was never an option for him. Brent eventually retired from Midwest Efficiency Ltd., where he worked from the beginning with his best friend, Shane.

When Brent had some free time, he enjoyed spending it with friends and family. He loved having company in the garage to watch a game and share a cocktail. Growing up, Brent loved the game of baseball and continued to play well into his adulthood. Brent loved her children and could count on her to do whatever they needed just as well. Later in life, Brent and Linda ended up camping. They would pack up the camper and the dogs and head to an unknown, sometimes planned, destination.

Thanks to everyone who sent messages, food and condolences. Your thoughtful support was greatly appreciated.

Brent will be laid to rest in the family plot at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw, SK. A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Brent’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
