Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI passengers said they ‘must’ take bottled water on board

An experienced flight attendant has issued a warning to travelers advising them to avoid drinking tap water on planes due to potential health risks. Water tanks on aircraft are often not thoroughly cleaned, the flight attendant claimed, which could lead to the presence of harmful bacteria such as E. coli.

Ski Vertigo and a veteran flight attendant point out that drinking tap water on a plane is one of the most important things to avoid during a flight because of the potential risks to your health and overall travel experience.




The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that a significant number of aircraft tested positive for coliform bacteria and, in some cases, even E.coli. These bacteria can lead to severe gastrointestinal problems and other infections, reports Birmingham Live.

Coffee and tea served on flights are often made using the plane’s tap water. This means that any contaminants present in tank water can also be found in these drinks.

Flight attendants revealed that equipment used to make coffee and tea, including coffee machines and kettles, is not always properly cleaned, which can lead to additional bacteria and mold.
