Murder arrest after man dies on suspicion

A man in his 40s has died following a suspected stabbing incident in a Wiltshire village.

Police were called to an address in Easterton, near Devizes, shortly after 8pm on Tuesday, July 2, after receiving reports that a man had suffered stab wounds.

The 40-year-old man died on the spot.

A woman in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Melksham custody for questioning.

Wiltshire Police believe both individuals are known to each other and are reassuring people they do not believe there is a wider risk to the public.

They are asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting log number 291 of July 2.
