Manchester United are making their final decision on Harry Maguire’s exit this summer

The 31-year-old England centre-half could be offloaded if Manchester United can find a buyer, with the former Leicester man entering the final year of his contract and the club keen to move on.

Manchester United are ready to sell Harry Maguire this summer if they can find a buyer.

The England centre-half almost left 12 months ago before a potential move to West Ham fell through. Maguire’s decision to stay at Old Trafford paid off as he proved many of his critics wrong and settled back into Erik ten Hag’s side. He even picked up a Premier League Player of the Month award along the way as he returned close to his best, although he missed United’s FA Cup final win through injury and the club endured the most bad finish in the Premier League.

But Maguire is entering the final year of his contract and the Red Devils risk losing the former Leicester star for free next summer if they don’t cash in now.

The Ten Hag are keen to land Bayern Munich centre-half Matthijs de Ligt, and if that deal goes through, Maguire’s future at Old Trafford will once again come under greater scrutiny.

The 31-year-old is believed to have admirers in Italy, where fellow centre-back and former United team-mate Chris Smalling excels with Roma.

Maguire is currently struggling to return to fitness after missing the Euros with a calf problem, but reports suggest his club are ready to try for a second successive summer to offload him.

Raphael Varane has already left on a free transfer, while the club are also open to offers for Victor Lindelof.

Lisandro Martinez returned at the end of the season and will be No.1 choice next term, while Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite has been targeted. But United believe the Toffees’ £70million valuation is far too high and have subsequently turned to De Ligt, down from Bayern and captaining Ten Hag at former club Ajax.
