Police rush to Bedworth Wetherspoons bar as two arrested in ‘knife fight’ investigation.

A man and a teenager have been arrested after a row in a pub. It happened at the Bear and Ragged Staff in Bedworth town center last night, July 3rd. Warwickshire Police said the initial 999 call was to reports of anti-social behavior outside the pub in King Street just before 8pm.

It was reported to have escalated after a group of men entered. CoventryLive understands that locals tried to push them away and this led to what police described as an “altercation involving a number of people”. The fight spilled over to King Street.

Police said there were reports of a knife being involved, but no weapon was found. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics treated a man at the scene.

“We were called to an incident on King Street in Bedworth at 8.04pm,” an ambulance service spokesman said. “Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene, the first resource arrived within six minutes. Upon arrival, crews found a patient requiring evaluation.

“The man was treated for injuries which were not believed to be serious but did not wish to go to hospital so was discharged at the scene.”

A 17-year-old boy, from Bedworth, was arrested near Roanne Ringway on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of a knife. A 22-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of today, July 4, at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire on suspicion of violent disorder. Both were to be questioned.

Inquiries are ongoing and an appeal for witnesses has been launched. Anyone with information or video footage of the incident has been urged to either visit the police website or call 101 quoting incident 352 of July 3.
