Full results of the 2024 Leeds East general election

Voters in Leeds East went to the polls in the 2024 general election.

A new Member of Parliament is elected for the West Yorkshire constituency, which includes the Leeds Cross Gates and Whinmoor wards; Garforth and Swillington; Gipton and Harehills; Killingbeck and Seacroft and Temple Newsam.




Before the election, the MP was Labour’s Richard Burgon. He won the seat in 2015.

The shock summer general election was called by Rishi Sunak on May 22, with elections taking place in all 650 seats across the UK. Since the 2019 general election, major boundary changes affecting 90% of parliamentary constituencies have come into effect.

Before the election, a Conservative government had been in power in Parliament since 2010.

Polls closed for the 2024 general election at 10pm on Thursday 4 July, with counting taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
