Legends to relive one of the greatest moments in sporting history at The Belfry

A pair of snooker legends will soon relive one of the greatest moments in the sport’s history at a fundraising event at The Belfry in Warwickshire. Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor will help raise much needed funds for Jessie May Childrens Hospice.

Steve and Dennis will be among the special guests at the Wigley Investment Holdings Golf Day and Gala Dinner on Wednesday 10 July. Organizers told CoventryLive they will be joined by Barry Hearn, Stuart Bingham and Chris Wakelin.




Attendees will be able to hear about Steve and Dennis’ illustrious careers first-hand, with the pair also set to look back at the 1985 World Snooker Championship final. the black ball, with 18.5 million people. tuned in to watch the action unfold at The Crucible Theater in Sheffield.

Robert Wigley, chairman of Wigley Investment Holdings, based in Southam, Warwickshire, said: “We are delighted to have two household names in Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor.

“Steve and Dennis will be able to give our guests a rare insight into one of the most dramatic finals in snooker history, as well as behind-the-scenes access to two of the game’s most colorful careers, their speeches will round off what promises to be a fabulous show. day of entertainment, networking and fundraising for an incredibly worthy cause.”

Teams will compete against each other on the hallowed ground of the Belfry before an evening of entertainment including a raffle and memorabilia auction, as well as speeches from Steve and Dennis. Proceeds will go to Jessie May Childrens Hospice at Home, which is patronized by Barry Hearn.

Around 250 professionals from across the region are expected to attend the highly anticipated event at The Belfry. It is hoped that more than £20,000 will be raised this year, with around £160,000 raised in total for the Wigley Support Fund (WSF) since it was launched in 2013.
