Bright future ahead for the Knights

The future looks bright for Leeds Knights ice hockey club with the exciting news of a second team to be called Leeds Knights 2.

The second team will compete in the NIHL1 North league in the 2024/25 season. The aim is to develop young talents and build a strong future.

Names on the current squad list include Dan Norton, Aaron Jordan, Luke Reid, Owen Dell and Ollie Wagg amongst others. With a total of thirteen players so far and more signings to be added to this already great roster, the future looks bright.

Assistant manager Davey Lawrence told the club’s website:

“Things are progressing nicely now, we still have a few signings to make but things are moving in the right direction.”

Lawrence is the assistant coach of the Leeds Knights first team but will be the head coach of the Leeds Knights second team, taking over from August and will relish the opportunity that will come his way.

The 2024/25 first team season will begin on Saturday 14 September. More details and ticket information can be found on the club’s official website.

The first pre-season game will take place on Sunday, September 1.
