Leeds’ Charlie Cresswell is set to join Toulouse

Charlie Cresswell (21) is set to join Toulouse FC from Leeds this summer, according to a report from BBC. A move for the centre-back looked as if it would collapse earlier this week after the player and the club were unable to agree personal terms.

However, Cresswell is set to fly to Toulouse this week and complete a deal that will net his formative club £3.8million. The English publication also reports that several other clubs in the championship were interested in obtaining the signature of the young defender.

Despite a successful season on loan at Millwall in the 2022/23 campaign, Cresswell struggled for game time at his parent club last year as he struggled to break into a Leeds side that narrowly missed out on promotion back in the Premier League.

Cresswell will join a squad that has put youth front and center in the club’s operations, with the team recording the youngest average age in Ligue 1 last season.
