The Tottenham target could join the north London club next month, it is reported

With many current Spurs players linked with a move away from the club this summer, including a number of central players, Tottenham would be wise to strengthen their midfield options.

According to talkSPORT, the club were particularly interested in Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who helped the EFL Championship side win promotion to compete in England’s top flight next season.

Now sports broadcaster Ben Jacobswho recently spoke to GiveMeSport, added that Dewsbury-Hall’s current club could be forced to sell the 25-year-old before the end of June.

“I don’t think the Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall links have overshadowed Leicester’s promotion. It’s a fantastic achievement. And it was important that Leicester came the first time they asked, but we now know they fall under the Premier’s jurisdiction. The League and it could was in a difficult financial position,” the station said.

“Leicester will have to sell despite going into the Premier League and they may have to sell relatively quickly,” Jacobs said.

He added: “Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – a profit player as he is known – is perhaps someone the club feel at the right number to sacrifice, although the player has publicly said he has no intention of leave”.

The England international, who came through the Foxes academy and made 129 appearances for his current club, would likely be a tough loss for Leicester (Transfermarkt). Just last season, Dewsbury-Hall managed to contribute 26 clean sheets (Transfermarkt).

However, if Jacobs’ analysis is correct, then it should serve as even more reason for Spurs and technical director Johan Lange to pursue the English talent before another club can find him.
