Motorcyclist injured in accident on main road

A man was injured after he got off his motorcycle on a busy road.

Several emergency vehicles, including police and paramedics, were seen at the roundabout where Hough Green Road meets Prescot Road in Widnes.

Emma Manson, 32, from Widnes, is the assistant manager at the nearby Four Topped Oak pub. She told the ECHO earlier this afternoon: “There were quite a few police cars. I was told that someone got off the motorcycle. That was.

“I had to be at work at 2 p.m. I got a text that said, “You have to get in, the police are all here.” It was at 1:40 a.m.”

Emma said police left the scene at around 3.30pm.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said the force received a report just before 2pm that a crash had taken place on Hough Green Road. The police went there and found a man who had got off his motorcycle on the roundabout. An ambulance was called and the man was treated at the scene for leg and shoulder pain.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash. The officers left at 15.22.
