Dorgu wanted, Di Gregorio rejects the Reds, Calafiori update

Here’s all the latest Liverpool transfer news. The Reds are eyeing a new left-back, who currently plays in Serie A.

Liverpool as Dorgu

Liverpool have been interested in young Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu “for months”, according to an Italian report.

Dorgu, 19, has enjoyed a terrific Serie A campaign in the last term, playing 32 times for Lecce, finishing a respectable 14th.

The left-back, who has scored twice in 17 league starts, has impressed during his breakout season in senior football and the Denmark Under-21 international is attracting interest from Europe’s elite as a result.

Dorgu has previously been linked with several Serie A giants, including Milan, Napoli and recent Europa League winners Atalanta, but the teenager is also valued by a number of Premier League sides.

The agent of Juventus’ latest signing Michele Di Gregorio has confirmed that there have been talks with Liverpool. The player rebuffed the Reds, however.

Liverpool have reportedly actually tried to sign Michele Di Gregorio this summer. The Italian goalkeeper has now left Monza for Juventus, a move that recognizes him as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A.

Surely the Reds thought he was just that too. Di Gregori’s agent Carlo Belloni admitted there were talks with Liverpool but they ultimately went with Juventus.

Chiesa could be available

Federico Chiesa

Long-term Liverpool target Federico Chiesa looks increasingly likely to leave Juventus this summer and could be available for as little as £17million.

Liverpool have been linked with Chiesa for years, but more recent reports suggest the Reds are still big admirers of the 51-capped Italy international.

Chiesa did not enjoy the best season of his career with Juventus in 2023/24 and struggled to make a significant impact as Italy were knocked out of Euro 2024 by Switzerland in the last 16.

Liverpool are watching as Arsenal make a major move towards signing Riccardo Calafiori. Should tomatoes enter the race correctly?

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are very close to signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. The Gunners have been linked for several weeks and are in talks with the Italian club over a fee.

But they have already taken the biggest step: to bring Calafiori on board. He verbally agreed to join Arsenal after being offered a contract worth around £3.5 million net per year.
