Sean Paul at CBS Arena in Coventry – tickets, timings, parking, banned items and pre-show details

There are only days to go until Grammy-award-winning Jamaican reggae and dancehall legend Sean Paul comes to Coventry for his latest tour with many fans excited about his return to the city. He will be performing at CBS Arena on Tuesday, July 9.

The concert is set to be a ‘homecoming gig’ for the rapper after he revealed he loved Coventry as his grandmothers were born here. Fans can expect to hear the best hits from his career which shot him to fame in 2004 with Get Busy and Gimme the Light, with both tracks reaching the higher places of the UK Top 40.

His last performance at CBS Arena was in 2018 where he welcomed his grandmother’s niece, his Auntie Pat, and performed Rockabye which features singer Anne Marie in tribute to his mother and grandmother. His recent chart-topping singles include Cheap Thrills featuring Sia, Make My Love Go with Jay Sean and Hair with former girl band Little Mix.

CoventryLive has compiled a guide on all the things you need to know before attending Sean Paul’s concert next week.

1) Are tickets still available?

The concert is a standing concert, with tickets still available for purchase via the CBS Arena website. The ticket limit is 8 per person, with general admission for £45 and golden circle for £55. There are also added booking fees and a £2.50 facility fee.

2) Are there age restrictions?

For those attending the concert, it is an aged over 14 event but those who are under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

3) What time does the concert start?

Doors will open at 7pm and attendees must be in the arena by 7:45pm.

4) Where can you park?

Parking is available at the Arena for the event, with CBS operating an ANPR system. Pre-booking parking is essential and should be booked in advance here which costs £15. If you have Gate C tickets, it is advised to book into Car Park B as this is the closest to the gate.

Car parks open from 3pm on July 9 and there is strictly no parking in Tesco at Arena Park for the event, with residential parking restrictions also in place. For accessible parking please email [email protected].

5) What items are banned from the concert?

The list of prohibited items includes:

• No coolers, helmets, suitcases or hard-sided luggage of any size.

• No bags over A4 sized.

• No weapons of any kind, or anything that could be considered a weapon.

• No silly string, party poppers or air horns of any description.

• No alcohol.

• No glass or aluminum cans – this includes perfume and aftershave bottles.

• No flares, pyrotechnics or smoke bombs.

• No folding chairs, seats or camping equipment of any sort.

• No laser pointers or flashlights.

• No audio or recording equipment, tablets or computers.

• No professional cameras or cameras with detachable lenses.

• No selfie sticks.

• No inflatables, balloons or beach balls.

• No large umbrellas/golf umbrellas (collapsible umbrellas under 18 inches are permitted but must not be open while in the venue).

• No drugs/illegal substances/legal highs/nitrous oxide/psychoactive substances, etc.

• No drones or radio-controlled devices.

• No scooters, skateboards, hoverboards or other kinds of skates.

• Any items deemed to be inappropriate or offensive including clothing, banners or written materials.

6) Where are the ticket gates?

There are three ticket gates, A, B, and C, with T meaning ticket office. Attendees must have their tickets ready to scan on arrival. Gates are outlined on the arena map below.

7) Are there any pre-show events?

There will be pre-show drinks at a local brewery, Dhillon’s Brewery located close to CBS Arena which will welcome guests with all the best Sean Paul hits plus themed cocktails ahead of the concert. Doors will open from 4pm.
