Conor Gallagher has said he is “gone” in Aston Villa’s big transfer push

Conor Gallagher has ‘disappeared’ at Chelsea after they signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

That’s the view of Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti, who is now convinced the midfielder will leave Stamford Bridge this summer amid transfer interest from Aston Villa.

Chelsea signed Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City earlier this week, with Blues boss Enzo Maresca raiding his former club for the midfielder who was instrumental in the Foxes’ promotion to the Premier League last season.

Gallagher’s future is in the spotlight this summer as he enters the final year of his Chelsea contract. He is currently on duty with England at Euro 2024 and said ahead of the tournament: “I’ve just focused on England and that’s the most important thing at the moment, for me and for the country.

“I’m a Chelsea player now and now I’m just thinking about England and the tournament.”

But Marcotti does not believe he will be a Chelsea player when the summer transfer window closes. Speaking on ESPN, while discussing Dewsbury-Hall’s signing, he said: “I think that means Gallagher is gone, but I think we’ve seen that happen.”
