Children’s tears after bloody violence at Kirby Muxloe Football Day

Children cried after a fun day of football ended in a bloody confrontation between two men. Leicestershire Police are investigating the incident, which happened at Kirby Muxloe Football Club during an under-10 tournament involving youngsters from across the county.

One father described what he saw: “It was after the games were over and the kids got their medals and prizes at the end. One of the teams had won a trophy and one of the other dads started swearing at one of the winning teams. the managers.

“I complained to the Kirby Muxloe club and heard other parents did too.”

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “Officers are continuing to investigate an assault which took place in Kirby Muxloe on Saturday 29 June. A man in his 40s was reported to have been punched several times by another man while attending a football tournament near Ratby Lane. .

“The victim suffered facial injuries, which required hospital treatment. No arrests have been made at this time and investigations into the incident are ongoing.”

Kirby Muxloe Football Club, of Ratby Lane, Kirby Muxloe, declined to comment and confirmed the incident was being investigated.
