Leeds United could bank “up to 50%” as Euro club pursue ex-academy ace on seven-figure deal – Report

Former Leeds United youth player Max Dean has been subject to a £1 million offer from Toulouse, as they look to imminently announce Charlie Cresswell.

Sales have been the key topic of conversation so far at Elland Road with players on the outskirts of Daniel Farke’s squad joining Archie Gray in leaving the club.

Charlie Cresswell is imminently due to be signed by Toulouse in Ligue 1, and they are now casting their eye over one of the centre-back’s former Leeds youth teammates.

Max Dean offer emerges from Toulouse

Leeds United could bank “up to 50%” as Euro club pursue ex-academy ace on seven-figure deal – Report

Football Insider have reported that former Leeds striker Max Dean, now shining at MK Dons, is a target for Toulouse in the French top flight.

A £1 million bid from Toulouse has been lodged off the back of the £3.8 million Cresswell agreement due to be announced shortly.

Dean’s time at MK Dons has been impressive, scoring 19 in 34 games under Mike Williamson last season, along with five assists, and he could now be heading to France if the bid is accepted.

Leeds have a sell-on clause in Dean’s current contract at MK Dons

Signed by former Leeds academy coach Mark Jackson at MK Dons, the deal that saw Dean leave the club included a sell-on clause.

The YEP shared that Leeds’ sell-on for Dean was actually quite sizeable, claiming that Leeds would be due to receive “up to 50%” of the fee MK Dons accept.

Should £1 million do the trick, up to £500,000 could come Leeds’ way from Toulouse with the rest heading to the League Two side.

Max Dean could follow Elia Caprile’s path in making Leeds feel silly

Elia Caprile left Leeds without a senior appearance to his name, and has proven to be more than good enough to make the grade here.

It’s early to say if Dean could do the same, but he always looked a serious nine in the U21s while he was here and it’s a shame he wasn’t here to get a chance.

Toulouse’s interest in Cresswell and Dean is intriguing, but they could easily both go there and shine, and Dean could be another representing regret from the Leeds board that sold him at the time.
