Crowds gather in ‘stunned shock’ as Walsall Police incident closes street

A heavy police presence is being felt in the Black Country this evening following an “incident”. Crowds of locals gathered near Walker Road in Walsall, which was cordoned off by officials.

It follows an undisclosed “incident” earlier today (Monday, July 8). The blue tarp can be seen near a vehicle in the cordon and several police cars and vans are in the area.




The local community came together in shock, our reporter at the scene said. Police have yet to share the exact nature of what happened, but road users have been asked to avoid the area.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson shared on X at 5.44pm: “We are currently dealing with an incident in Well Lane, Walsall. A cordon is in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”


Buses were diverted from the area amid the road closure. National Express West Midlands shared on social media: “Service disruption. Due to an incident on Walkers Road Bloxwich.
