Prince William reveals personal side in new documentary

The Prince of Wales’ new documentary highlights efforts to end homelessness by showing moving personal stories.

Prince William is set to reveal another side of himself in an upcoming documentary titled Prince William: We Can End Homelessness.

The two-part series, set to air on ITV and ITVX this autumn, aims to shine a light on homelessness in the UK through the lens of the Homewards programme.

The Homewards initiative, launched by Prince William and the Royal Foundation in June 2023, aims to make homelessness a rare, short-term and non-recurring event. The documentary will focus on the first year of this five-year initiative, highlighting efforts in six key locations: Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield.

Directed by BAFTA Award winner Leo Burley, known for ‘The Real Mo Farah’, the series promises to deliver compelling narratives from those affected by homelessness. Burley noted, “I’ve heard incredibly moving stories from people all over the country who are dealing with homelessness.”

According to the Mirror, Prince William’s involvement in the cause is deeply personal, influenced by his mother, Princess Diana, who introduced him to life outside the royal bubble through visits to homeless shelters. Reflecting on his commitment, Prince William said: “Tackling homelessness is a priority for me and I believe Homewards can make a lasting difference.”

The documentary is expected to premiere between September and November, bringing much-needed attention to Britain’s homelessness crisis.
