Blues and Leicester linked with Italian international striker – Ipswich Town News

The Blues and Leicester have been linked with the Italian international striker

Town and Leicester are said to be eyeing Sassuolo centre-forward Andrea Pinamonti.

The 25-year-old is keen on a move following his club’s relegation from Serie A, but with the Neroverdi only set to take him on loan.

Conformable The mirrorThe Blues and Foxes are both monitoring the Italy international with the squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Pinamonti, who is 6ft 2in tall, scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 38 Serie A games last season but missed out on a place in Italy’s Euro 2024 squad. he has represented his club at U15, U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 Levels.

Born in Cles, Pinamonti began his career at Inter Milan during which he had loan spells with Frosinone and Genoa, which he then joined permanently before returning to Inter.

Further loan spells at Empoli and Sassuolo followed before he made his move to his current club permanent last summer, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027. Earlier in the summer, he was linked with a return to Inter.

Town are on the hunt for another centre-forward to compete with George Hirst ahead of their first top-flight season in 22 years.

As TWTD revealed this morning, Manchester City’s Liam Delap was at the club last Thursday to have a look around as he assesses his options for the upcoming campaign.

The Blues finally made a €25m (£21.1m) bid to Panathinaikos for striker Fotis Ioannidis two weeks ago, which was the second bid but the first to was rejected.

We understand there has been no progress on that front since then, but Town’s bid remains on the table and has so far been unmatched. However, Serie A side Bologna are expected to make a bid closer to the €30m (£25.3m) the Athens club have targeted.

Elsewhere, former Town academy striker Harley Curtis, 21, has joined Needham Market after leaving Chesterfield after a year at the end of the season.

Just say the word. Sass sass suolo.

(Mi dispiace a tutti).

Gforce added 14:49 – July 8

Never heard of it, but all things considered sounds like a better option than Delap.

BlueNomad added 14:56 – July 8

Why do you think Gforce?

ArnieM added 14:59 – July 8

Delap is younger and less experienced. I suspect if we bought him he would be considered WIP for the next two seasons and not a starter. The city is recruiting on several levels / fronts. Not just for the upcoming PL season. Try and think outside the box!

I’d still take Kieffer Moore over any currently connected!

BeattiesBackPocket added 15:29 – July 8

Chepstow blue really?? Why’s that?? Moore has scored 5 goals in 35 prem league games plus he is 32 this year, hardly one for the future is he. As much as I love the guy, I think the championship is his level. These guys are untested but have age, a point to prove and technically better than Moore

I wish after all these links and whoever eventually joins us, I never get a sniff of Hirst stepping up and storming Marcus Stewart style.

Please please no I watch a lot of Italian football live here and this guy doesn’t finish plus no Leicester squad player can have him

dirtydingusmagee added 16:12 – July 8

Italianotractor I imagine Town have been watching it too if we’re interested, just saying.

Some are writing Kiefer off because of his number of goals in the Prem. It wasn’t driven by Mr. McKenna though! I’d have Kiefer back for the Prem experience if nothing else. I still think Ali will have a spot early in the season. I think sometimes we underestimate what is already under our noses. Anyway, Philogen, Greaves are “must haves”. Delap if he wants, otherwise close the door immediately on him. The Italian guy and that Ioannidis don’t warm up at all and if they want to come then come but don’t drag him out (nervi nervi nervi nervi, it won’t last long!!!)

He wears Wayne Gretzky’s number, but he doesn’t deserve it.

The mirror says we are “monitoring” it. Even if this red top story can be trusted, it is clearly far from any substance at present.
