Warriors v Wolves in Vegas

Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves will make history when they compete in a Betfred Super League match in Las Vegas, Nevada at Nevada’s 65,000 capacity Allegiant Stadium, home of NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders.

The match, which will be a Wigan Warriors Round 3 home game, will take place on Saturday 1st March 2025, kick-off 1.30pm local time, 9.30pm UK time. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK.

The full schedule of games is as follows:

  • Game 1: Super League – Wigan v Warrington (1.30pm PST / 8.30am AEDT / 9.30pm GMT)
  • Game 2: NRL – Canberra Raiders v New Zealand Warriors (4pm PST / 11am AEDT / Midnight GMT)
  • Match 3: Test match – Australian Jillaroos vs England Women (18:00 PST / 13:00 AEDT / 2:00 GMT)
  • Game 4: NRL – Penrith Panthers vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (20:30 PST / 15:30 AEDT / 4:30 GMT)

The two rivals will become the first teams to play a Super League game in the United States. Wigan and Warrington played a friendly at the Milwaukee Stadium 35 years ago in front of 17,000 supporters, which Wigan won 12-5.

The trip will be complemented by a series of events in the “city that never sleeps”, which will ensure that any traveling fan from any team will create memories for a lifetime.

The match will be part of the NRL extravaganza in Las Vegas and is the second year Rugby League has been played in the city, following last year’s inaugural event which featured a double header of NRL action with South Sydney, Brisbane, Manly and Sydney. Roosters and which drew a crowd of over 40,000.

NRL teams Penrith Panthers, New Zealand Warriors, Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks will also compete in the 2025 event, with England and Australia Women taking part in a test match between the two nations.

The Super League involvement was led by Club Wigan, with chief executive Kris Radlinski working closely with Warrington counterpart Karl Fitzpatrick.

Radlinski commented: “I think a lot of us in the UK watched the games in Las Vegas earlier in the year and wished we could be a part of them, either playing or supporting. I spoke with my board about this possibility and there was a unanimous desire to be a part of this opportunity.

“I wrote to Peter V’landys and explained that we are an ambitious club and to consider us for future events. Peter responded positively and put me in touch with his NRL executive team and over the last few months we have been trying to find ways to make this happen.”

Radlinski added: “Through my long-standing relationships with Simon Moran and Karl Fitzpatrick at Warrington, I knew they had similar ambitions and when I spoke to them about it they jumped at the chance to take part.”

Karl Fitzpatrick, chief executive of Warrington Wolves, said: “First and foremost credit must go to Kris Radlinski, Mike Danson and the board at Wigan for leading this project. When we were approached about this opportunity, we were on board from the start. This initiative is fully aligned with our club’s positioning and ambitions.

“Playing in one of the world’s best entertainment destinations in a stunning venue will be an exciting and memorable experience for our supporters, players and partners. It will also put Super League on the map in a sporting market full of opportunities.”

Fitzpatrick added: “The games in Vegas earlier this year really captured the imagination and showed the Rugby League world what can be achieved by thinking big and aiming big – next year will be even bigger and being part of this concept will be. really special.”

Ticket and hotel packages will go on sale to season ticket holders and members on Tuesday 9 July, with further information on UK travel and hospitality packages from Tuesday 23 July.
