Wigan are due to play their Super League home game against Warrington in Las Vegas in 2025.

England Women will also play their Australian counterparts at the NFL team’s home ground at the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

There will also be two NRL games, with the New Zealand Warriors taking on the Canberra Raiders and the Cronulla Sharks playing the Penrith Panthers.

All four matches will be played on Saturday, March 1.

This will be the second year Vegas has hosted NRL action after the Brisbane Broncos, Manly Sea Eagles, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Roosters played there as part of the 2024 NRL opening weekend.

“I think it’s really exciting for the game that two big foundation clubs can play there in the States,” Warrington head coach Sam Burgess told BBC Sport.

“We saw the NRL get there and play two games at the start of the year and be hugely successful.

“A lot of English fans went there to watch those games so it will be amazing to see some Super League action.

“We’re looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great week and the team is certainly excited about it.”

England captain Jodie Cunningham added: “I think it’s fantastic that the NRL have recognized the importance of the women’s game in this way.

“We all watched the NRL games in Vegas earlier this season and it was so exciting to see the impact they had.”

English Rugby League goes from The Den to Las Vegas – Analysis

England Women, Wigan and Warrington have a unique opportunity to showcase the British game as part of this link with the Australian National Rugby League – with games played in Las Vegas on 1 March 2025.

English rugby league fans have impressed NRL agents with their level of attendance and the work of Wigan chief executive Kris Radlinski and his Warrington counterpart Karl Fitzpatrick has cemented Super League’s contribution.

The Games hold great promise as a chance to sell the game to a new American audience, as well as impress the level of talent here in an often skeptical Australian market.

The fact that the NRL have brought the games as a partner and sees the value is a boost for the British game and there will be financial benefits through ticket sales.

Super League has been played at venues as diverse as Barcelona’s Nou Camp, Edinburgh’s Tynecastle and Millwall’s The Den, while these two teams, Wigan and Warrington, met in the United States in Milwaukee in 1989.

However, none of these plans have been as ambitious as this one, and there is financial risk behind it, as both parties acknowledge, but the opportunity to reap rewards in terms of exposure and a chance to shine outweighs any concerns .

It’s a deal that’s already got people talking and for that alone, rugby league in this country will feel it’s already proving its worth.
