Weather maps turn dark red with 30 degrees Celsius to scorch much of the UK

Britain has been hit by cold and wet weather in recent weeks, with rain lashing the country for days on end and summer seemingly missing in action. However, there is new hope for warmer weather as parts of the UK are set to burn.

Much of the UK will see temperatures soar to 30C, according to new maps by WXCharts, which use data from MetDesk. Maps show that the searing temperatures that have roasted the European continent in recent weeks could spread across Britain within weeks, reports The Express.

Maps show a large body of warm air moving up from the Iberian peninsula around Tuesday 23 July and Wednesday 24 July. Mercury is set to rise for all, according to the chart.

London and southern England will see the hottest weather, with temperatures expected to rise between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Wales are expected to rise between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius, while Scotland will be cooler, with temperatures still expected to reach 22 degrees Celsius.

Northern England is set for highs of 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Midlands – including Leicestershire – could also reach the mid-20s, as could Norfolk and Oxfordshire.

In a weather forecast for Tuesday, July 23 and Tuesday, August 6, the Met Office expects temperatures to be “above average”. A spokesman said: “There are some signs of a slightly higher than normal chance of a more prolonged stable spell developing at some point during the period, at least for a while, and perhaps more likely in South.

“However, additional, perhaps shorter, unresolved interludes are also likely. Above average temperatures in general and drier than average conditions in general are very little favored.”
