Euro 2024: The code word England fans must use in Greene King pubs to get a free pint

England fans can get a free pint at Greene King pubs if they venture out to watch the Euro semi-final tonight (July 10). But only on one condition – England must score against Holland.

The pub chain will offer a free soft drink if England score a goal, but you’ll only be able to redeem a free pint after the final whistle has been blown. You’ll also need to say the words “England have scored, pour please” to the bar staff to get your drink.

After their success against Switzerland in the quarter-finals, when Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the winning penalty, Gareth Southgate’s men will be hoping to move one step closer to bringing the football home with a win against the Netherlands in tonight’s semi-finals. Having scored ten goals in the tournament so far, with Jude Bellingham netting three of those, the chances for free pints look good for the nation, but as always in sport, nothing is guaranteed.

What can be guaranteed, however, is a good time at the pub, because no matter the result, win or lose, you’re surrounded by your friends and colleagues, so you can celebrate or pity yourself together.

“The addition of a free pint is enough to put a smile on my face, especially when the games so far have been so painful to watch. There’s only one place I’ll be heading to watch the semi-final and that’s my local Greene King pub, because once one of our players hits the ball into the back of the net I’ll be enjoying a refreshing pint – free ! To the rooster’s mind!”

The offer entitles pub-goers to a free pint of Greene King IPA, Yardbird Pale Ale, Old Speckled Hen, Old Golden Hen, House Bitter, False Nine, Level Head Session IPA, Flint Eye Dry-Hopped Lager, Hazy Day Hazy IPA , Prior Life All Day IPA, Ice Breaker Pale Ale or a soft drink alternative.
