Bradford man accused of threatening police, spitting on officer

In a separate, unrelated incident earlier in the day, alleged assault in Innisfil causes serious injuries, South Simcoe police say

BRADFORD – On Saturday, July 6, 2024 at approximately 8:45 pm, South Simcoe Police officers were dispatched to a home near Drury Street in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury for a disturbance-related call. Upon police arrival, they learned that the suspect had conditions not to be at the residence.

During the course of the arrest, (it is alleged that) the suspect was assaultive and threatened the police. The suspect (allegedly) also spit in one officer’s face.

As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Bradford man was arrested for failure to comply, mischief under $5,000, assault police officer and utter threats to cause bodily harm. He was held for bail.

INNISFIL – On Saturday, July 6, 2024 at approximately 3:45 am, South Simcoe Police officers responded to a report of an altercation at a home in the Town of Innisfil. Upon police arrival, they located a man being treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries by paramedics. The 51-year-old victim was transported to hospital for further assessment.

Investigation revealed that the man had been physically assaulted, and a 43-year-old Innisfil man was charged with assault causing bodily harm.
