Rotherham crash live updates as road closed and 999 crews rush to scene

A busy road in South Yorkshire remains closed this evening following a crash.

The A633 Manvers Way, in Wath Upon Dearne, Rotherham, is closed in both directions from Station Road to Cawood Drive. The road was first closed at around 5.30pm this evening (Wednesday) and is causing heavy traffic in the area.

Images on social media show emergency services, including police and the ambulance service, in attendance.

At the moment, the circumstances of the collision are not known, and it is not clear when the road will be reopened. Yorkshire Live has contacted South Yorkshire Police for further information.

Manvers Way is now reopened following an earlier collision.

Our travel partner Inrix reports: “The A633 Manvers Way in both directions has been reopened, traffic has returned to normal, the accident has been cleared from Station Road to Cawood Drive. In progress earlier this evening”.
