Live: Clifton Suspension Bridge closed ‘all day’ amid police incident

Police officers are responding to an emergency incident at the Clifton Suspension Bridge this morning (Thursday July 11). The bridge was closed in both directions from around 6.30am.

According to the Inrix traffic monitor, the B3129 is closed between Observatory Road and North Road on the opposite side of the bridge. In a social media post, the Clifton Suspension Bridge account said the bridge and visitor center will be closed all day to both traffic and pedestrians.




It said: “Due to a police incident the Bridge and Visitor Center are CLOSED all day today (JULY 11) to ALL traffic and pedestrians. We apologize for the interruption.”

The Clifton Suspension Bridge has been closed

Clifton Suspension Bridge closed in both directions, traffic backed up due to police incident between B3129 / Sion Hill / Sion Place and B3129 / North Road / Burwalls Road. Congestion to the A4 Portway as it passes under the bridge.
