Ms Acolatse added: “Today was a wonderful opportunity to interact with students, answer questions about audiology and spread awareness about Specsavers Audiology.”

Specsavers Chiswick optician director Simka Varma, who joined Ms Acolatse for the morning’s careers fair, said: “Today’s event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about eye and ear health and understand the training required to qualify. The students asked some really interesting questions, so it was great to explain the different career options available to them, including training with Specsavers.”

Connexions Careers Adviser Clare Rodway commented: “These events are invaluable in helping students make informed decisions about post-16 learning pathways. Having the opportunity to meet local employers, discuss any questions directly and ask questions helps them develop their own knowledge and form their goals and aspirations as they move forward in the world of work.”

Ms Rodway added: “I’m really pleased that Setor and Simka were able to support the Careers Fair today. Students enjoyed learning more about the science of hearing and vision from the Specsavers team. These school career events are often a catalyst for a profession that might not have been considered before.”
