Teenagers arrested after Solihull Park stabbing in probe into attempted murder

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in a city park. The victim was injured in Langley Hall Park, Solihull.

West Midlands Police said that at around 7pm on Saturday, May 11, a man in his 40s was allegedly involved in a dispute with youths. The man was then stabbed – suffering thankfully non-life threatening injuries – and his attackers left.



Following quick inquiries, police identified suspects and two boys – aged 15 and 16. The pair were detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police said they also arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of aiding the criminals. All are in custody for questioning. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a stabbing on Roydon Road at 7.10pm on Saturday night.

“An ambulance, a paramedic, a doctor with a critical care paramedic, a BASICS doctor and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival I discovered a patient, a man. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken away. to the hospital by land ambulance”.

The police are currently involved in Operation Scepter as part of their ongoing work to reduce knife crime. Knives can ruin lives and it focuses on raising awareness of the dangers of guns and the consequences.
