Teen accused of trying to rape girl in ‘street attack’

A 17-year-old Nuneaton boy from Nuneaton has been charged with attempted rape of a girl. Neither can be named for legal reasons.

It follows an alleged incident on Saturday (May 11) in a lane off Plow Hill, Galley Common. A boy allegedly pushed a girl to the floor and tried to have sex with her.

Currently, the suspect is in preventive detention. He is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (May 17).
