Bankfoot APAM proposes Leeds resi

Working for site owner NPV Leeds, the development manager submitted plans for 170 rental apartments on the Zurich House site, off Water Lane.

The apartments, which have been consulted on, will range from one to three bedrooms.

Planning consultancy AshtonHale submitted the plans. NPV is a registered business in Guernsey.

Consultation in early June revealed the developer’s preferred route is to demolish the underused office block, which is to be replaced by a new build of nine to 11 storeys.

Bankfoot said extensive liaising had taken place with Leeds City Council to develop a scheme to reflect the industrial heritage of the site and its surroundings in the Holbeck and Canal Wharf Conservation Areas on the city’s South Bank.

Feedback on the proposed materials has been taken into account and careful consideration will be given to the choice of brick used, the firm said.

Emily Myers, senior development manager for Bankfoot APAM, said: “We would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the plans. This proposal represents a significant commitment to new high quality housing in Leeds to enable a wide mix of people to enjoy city life and all that Leeds has to offer.”
