TSB is warning “all” customers who have booked a summer holiday

TSB has warned all customers who have booked a summer holiday about some major problems and mistakes that could ruin their trips. TSB, a leading banking giant, is rivaled by Santander, HSBC UK, Barclays, Lloyds and Nationwide.

Delphine Emenyonu, Head of Loans and Credit Cards at TSB has shared some tips for planning holiday spending that can help holidaymakers avoid falling into ‘costly’ traps. Ms Emenyonu said: “There are a number of things you’ll need to pay for when you’re abroad, such as tips, food and drink and travel – and not everyone accepts card payments, so it’s a good idea to spread the holiday. money in a mix of cash and card.

“By spreading the money around, you also ensure you have a backup in case one is lost or stolen.” Ms Emenyonu said: “Leaving it to the last minute and getting it at the airport, for example, can be expensive as exchange rates are usually higher. Do your research on exchange rates and where to get them.

“These rates are usually more competitive and you’ll usually get commission-free exchange rates as well. Depending on where you get them, you can order the coin online and either pick it up or have it delivered.”

Ms Emenyonu noted: “It is important to check if there are any charges for using the card abroad, such as a foreign exchange fee or a cash withdrawal fee. Do your research before you go and use cards that don’t charge fees.”

Ms Emenyonu said: “You can choose the amount you want to load on the card and use that card abroad. However, it’s important to do your research and look into any fees associated with using a prepaid card, such as a cash withdrawal fee.”

Ms Emenyonu said: “Don’t risk going abroad without travel insurance. Hopefully you’ll never have to use it, but the cost if something goes wrong could be crippling. Again, shop online and get travel insurance before you go.”
