Mini ramps are now available at Oakwood Station as part of Transport for London’s investment to make the station more accessible for disabled passengers.

Oakwood already has lifts available for wheelchair users and others with mobility needs, but the gap between the train and the platform can sometimes cause difficulties.

The City’s Transport Strategy sets out a range of actions to tackle inequality and ensure Londoners can travel safely and with the ability to ‘turn up and go’, rather than having to over-plan, despite barriers to travel for some passengers.

Following customer feedback, the new mini ramps will cover the remaining gap between the train and the platform to facilitate boarding and alighting for passengers using mobility aids.

Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said: “I welcome the new mini ramps at Oakwood Station. I am happy to see greater equity for passenger services to ensure that all Londoners can get around on our amazing public transport network.

“Thank you to TfL for listening to Enfield passengers. I want to see this positive change continue in our city and will encourage TfL to install these ramps wherever they can.”
