Leicester mum hits back as trolls call her ‘lazy’ over candid video of messy house

A Leicester mum has hit back at trolls who branded her ‘lazy’ after sharing a candid video of her cluttered home. Laura Green, 30, posted the video of her home on TikTok to reassure other parents that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time.

Laura wanted to show that “it’s good to take a break and clean up later.” The mother-of-two decided to share her own experience, which involved coming downstairs after putting her son to bed to find a messy house.

Before she started cleaning, she chose to take a few minutes to herself. She reassured other parents that doing this is perfectly fine.

However, inevitably, her actions were met with criticism online from some naysayers. She was labeled a “messy young mother” by critics, despite being in her 30s.

Some critics have even said that she “shouldn’t be allowed on the planet” if she can’t do “women’s work”. Some viewers even laughably accused her of deliberately positioning the camera to make herself look good – something she scoffed at. Laura, who was a senior consultant at an optician before having the one-year-old and four-year-old, deleted the comments with humour.

She said: “Mostly the comments made me laugh – especially the ones about my cleavage. I have this on my page quite a bit. It says more about them than it does about me.

“It’s obvious that I show the mess. The “lazy and terrible young mother” comments were pretty funny too.

“People seem to think I’m 19 and I had my kids by accident – actually I’m 30 and they were a choice. Negative comments don’t bother me – they’re just people looking for likes.
