The Leicester City man gives his first impressions of new boss Steve Cooper

Ricardo Pereira has spoken about his first impressions of new Leicester City boss Steve Cooper after reporting for pre-season training.

The influential Portuguese defender is looking forward to his seventh season with the Foxes and is excited to start working towards the new 2024/25 campaign and a return to Premier League football.

Cooper’s side returned to Seagrave on Monday for pre-season tests when there were plenty of new faces, not least the new manager.

“I was really excited to start the pre-season, to see my teammates again and to see some teammates who were away … I know the new manager, the new staff, the new people at the club,” Pereira said.

“I can’t wait to get started. I’ve already had a few talks with the new manager, but it’s still early days. It’s good impressions and I think one great thing he wants is to have a great relationship with everyone. He thinks it’s very important and I agree with that.

“When we got there in the morning, we’re excited to see everyone, but then you know you’ve got a day of testing and some running. It’s normal, we know what to expect and I can’t wait to get started.
