VIDEO: Medieval jousting is the real deal at the Renaissance Fair

Medieval knights on horseback stole the show at the first annual Essa North Renaissance Faire at the Essa Agriplex near Thornton last weekend.

The action was the real deal as the competitors threw themselves at each other, often knocking each other off their mounts and crashing to the ground in full armor.

The event also featured a display of birds of prey used for hunting in medieval times, music, food, a fire show by Zoltan the Righteous and more.
