The Leeds United squad has been revealed for Norwich City as Daniel Farke gets a huge boost

Leeds United have no fresh injury problems to deal with going into today’s Championship play-off semi-final with Norwich City.

The Whites will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s automatic promotion disappointment, where a 2-1 defeat at Southampton ended any hopes of finishing in the top two. Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town won promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2002 thanks to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Leeds have secured all six points against Norwich in the two meetings between the promotion hopefuls this season. A 3-2 win in October and a 1-0 win at Elland Road earlier in the year.

The first leg of the semi-final will take place at Carrow Road today at lunchtime, with the second leg set to take place on Thursday 16 May.

Heading into the clash, Farke received two major injury boosts to his squad. Wales international Connor Roberts is calling for a recall after being restricted to just 13 minutes off the bench against Southampton.

Elsewhere, his compatriot Daniel James, who has missed the last two games with an abdominal strain, could play for East Anglia. However, striker Patrick Bamford was ruled out of both legs with a knee injury.

The 30-year-old forward has not played since the 4-3 win against his former club Middlesbrough on April 22. “Patrick will definitely be missing both legs,” Farke said ahead of the Norwich game. “He saw another knee consultant and here’s a minor trauma to the patellar tendon. He definitely needs a few weeks to recover.

“It’s important that others step up, others will get our approval and the whole team has my support and trust. We don’t feel too sorry for ourselves.”

Farke, who will return to Carrow Road for the second time this season after managing the club for four years, also spoke about James’ chances of playing. He added: “Daniel James is making good progress. It’s getting closer and closer. There’s a chance he’ll be available.”

Long-term absentee Pascal Struijk will not return to action until next season.
