Heartbreaking as tributes pour in for tragic Chad Matheson

Tributes have poured in for a “loving and caring” 21-year-old killed in a pub crash.

Chad Matheson, 21, died on Friday from his injuries after crashing his Mercedes into the wall of The Sovereign pub in Penistone Road at 9.30pm on Saturday July 6. A picture of Chad was released by his devastated mum and dad yesterday, as she said: ‘Our family is devastated at his death; yet we remain strong and his memories keep us going.”




Their heartbreaking words were met with emotional tributes and love for Chad and his family. One social media user wrote on the YorkshireLive Facebook page: “So devastating, such a beautiful young man. Rest in peace”.

Another said: “Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. So sad when a young life is cut short.”

In one post, another Facebook user commented: “RIP young brother. My condolences to the family,” while another added: “So sad, my condolences to his family and friends.”

Carla Lemon said: “RIP Young man, such a sad loss, my heart goes out to his family and friends.”

Lindsey Armitage added: “Sending love and strength to the family,” and Tracey Storey-sedgwick said: “So sorry to hear such tragic news. My thoughts are with his family. RIP young man, taken too soon xx”
