Kate Middleton ‘radiates’ as she attends the men’s final at Wimbledon

The Duchess of Cornwall and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton delighted crowds at Wimbledon this afternoon as she took part in the men’s final on Center Court. The princess was joined by nine-year-old Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton.

Looking resplendent in purple with a beaming smile, Kate delighted Royal followers and other tennis fans as she made just her second public appearance since her cancer diagnosis.

Cheers erupted for the Princess as she arrived at the famous SW19 address and returned the favor with a wave and a smile.

Kate, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, did not attend Saturday’s women’s final with Wimbledon chair Debbie Jevans handing the shield on her behalf to winner Barbora Krejcikova, but will do the honors for the men’s final.

Kate – who announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer – delighted Royal fans as she smiled at fellow tennis fans in a stunning purple dress. Cheers erupted for Princess Kate at Wimbledon as she made only her second public appearance since being diagnosed with cancer.

Dressed in purple and sporting a bright smile, Kate appeared beaming as she crossed the famous infield bridge with daughter Charlotte on her way to Court Court ahead of the men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

Officials at Wimbledon previously said they were “hopeful” Kate would be able to return to the trophies after Sunday’s final. The princess, who completed her duty in 2023, is known to be a tennis lover and even an amateur player.

“We hope the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as patron of the club, but her health and recovery are the priority,” All England Club president Debbie Jevans said.

The palace confirmed Kate was stepping back from her royal duties in March after the princess released a surprise video on social media to share her cancer diagnosis.

Kate is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and briefly returned to the public spotlight last month at Trooping the Colour.

In a statement released last month, Kate revealed she was making good progress with her treatment but was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days” as she continued her treatment. She missed a charity polo match on Friday where her husband, the Prince of Wales, took to the field to raise funds for good causes.

Kate paid tribute to Sir Andy Murray earlier during the tennis tournament, saying she should be “so proud” after missing out on a Wimbledon final.

In a personally signed message on social media, Kate wrote: “An incredible career at #Wimbledon is coming to an end. You should be so proud @andy_murray. On behalf of everyone, thank you! C.”
