Bristol man arrested after crash leaves 8-year-old child seriously injured

A Bristol man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Two vans and a gray BMW were involved in a crash in Hoe Benham, West Berkshire, yesterday (Saturday, July 13).

The collision happened on the B4000, near the junction with the High Street, at around 4.30pm. An eight-year-old child is said to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where they remain.




The 34-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving, drug driving, possession of cannabis and driving without insurance. The Bristolian has now been released on police bail until September 26.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses to come forward if they have information or footage of the collision. Investigating officer PC Martin Danks, of the Joint Operations Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Also, if you were driving in the area around the time of the collision and have a dash cam, please check the footage in case it caught anything that could help us. You can send us images through this dedicated online portal.
